Teaching and a surprise

For the past two years I have taught a group of ladies in GinGin . This year just before Christmas they sent me this wonderful card that they made to thank me. They also included a voucher for Brian's at Kawana. Yes I did have fun choosing fabric to use later in the year.

The card - they all made a litte photo of their quilt an then attatched it to the lovely card that Ruth had made. I believe it is her flowering tree on the front.

I was so touched by this.

Happy to see that ou are sewing, I guess that means that the flood waters are not by you. I talked to Audrey last night and we wer worried that you might be affected because you had not heard from you in some time.

Hi Mary
No we are not directly affected by the flood waters. We have had about 36inches of rain but ok. I have to put on wellington to walk out back as I sink for four inches. The water will be seaping out of the hill for months so I will have a wet back area for that time I would imagine.
Did you recieve the card I sent you for Christmas?
You take care

I am relieved you are not affected too much by the floods. There is lots about the situation on our Canadian News. It is a regular winter day here, not too cold in comparison to last week -11C which is about average for this time of year.

Happy New Year Del -- Shirley

Happy New Year to you also Shirley
All roads out of our town are now flooded so we are cut off. We have friends her tonight that have not been able to get to their home all day. It is still raining about 12 inches today on top of the 34 we had already had. The road to our friends place is about 30ft under water
We are thankful that our home is high up. Across the road the people are trying to keep water out of their house.
If it keep raining we may lose some of our road in.
