From left to right. Dawn my self and Betty.

OK there is my Barrier Reef. Framed it looks even better. It took hours of work to complete and in the finished one I have fish swimming crabs starfish dolphins. So I will post when I take another picture.

I did not put up the picture of my Barrier Reef as the flash was in the picture so I will have to take another one soon. I will show some of it unframed and one of my sisters and myself.

It was a busy few days but my Mother did not come to Brisbane for Christmas dinner. I don't think we could have got her up and down the 15 stairs so maybe just as well. She had lunch on the coast with my other sisters family.

We had a lovely day except our dog and one of my niece's did not get on so they had to be separated for the day. Boxing day a neighbour asked us over for lunch with his son and family. His wife was my friend and passed away just before last Christmas so it was nice but sad at the same time.

Last night I felt that I had to do something so out to the studio and cut up a lot of bits of material into 21/2",5",4" blocks ready to uses as leader when sewing.
I think I will go out now and do something or I will fall asleep. Funny the less you do the less you want to do.

I wish you all a great 2008.

Until next time
Delia

CHRISTMAS TIME

I can not believe it Christmas has come around so fast this year. Oh the Christmas parties and breakups have proved havoc with my weigh. As I said last year this year I am skipping out of all the parties at the end of the year. I bet I don't I just love the social butterfly bit to much. I think my husband has had enough of me being out all the time.

I have had this sore throat and cough again. I think I have had it about 7 times this year. Finally I think I am getting some relief with if by doing natural things. The doctors were useless antibiotics don't work. Telfast and other things like that don't work. So I went looking on the Internet and found Cayenne yes Cayenne pepper for the sore throat and cod liver oil and powder vitamin c for the cough. Well I can not believe it. I have had relief and now after Christmas I will do the natural vitamin B think to boast the B intake. Eating whole grains and liver for three days as well as my usually food. They say you will probable get a cold and after that the cough should be gone compleatly. I have had this for years and at last I feel I am getting to the bottom of it. I always felt there was an infection that never cleared up. All this makes sense to me. So hoping it will keep working. No I know it will.

We have a busy few days ahead of us. Today we are off to Christmas with husbands family, tomorrow Cocktails with my family. Monday free I hope to catch up. Tuesday CHRISTMAS day down to my neice in Brisbane. She and her partner have brought a new home and they wanted us all to go down for the day. Our day is different usually all the family are together but this year it will only be her parents, my mother, (we will take her down) her partner and his brother together on the day. I would have loved to have gone to our daughter in Townsville. It is a long way and we will be there for 4 to 6 weeks when the next baby is born. So could not talk hubby into going up again.

On a quiting note I have finished all I was comitted to for the year and now feel that someting is missing. So I made a Christmas dress for our grand daughter and the little girl next door and just messed around in the studio. Having fun.
I took my Barrier Reef down to the framers on Monday and to my surprise they rang yesterday and it is finished. Here is a picture of it. I am just delighted with the way it has turned out.

Long time but I am back now

Oh here she is our beautiful baby grand daughter. I have made so much for her and as you can see it is a long time since I have posted.

I also was away for a month visiting Alaska Canada HongKong and China. It was a lovely trip but I was so pleased to get back home. There is nothing like home and your own bed.

Now as promised a picture of the raffle quilt. We made a nice profit which was donated to the Wildlife hospital. A great day at the picnic and fun for all.

Let me see what have I been up to. I have attended a Gloria Loughman workshop at our quilt group and it was just the most fantastic two days. She is such a wonderful teacher. I just felt I learnt so much from her. Her quilts are just amazing. I still have not finished so can not show you yet.

Here are a couple of quilts I have made this year. The first was a quilt embroidery swap.

Well it seems I can't edit the last post so it will have to stay as it is for now.

DELIA

I just love this Wall Hanging I did a few years ago for a Christmas Red work. I had completed a queen size quilt before it was popular in Australia. I was at that time in Redwork groups in America and got the ideas for it from there. Funny I don't think any of them ever completed a queen size quilt. Here is the quilt.

Here I am again telling you a little about me. I live on the Sunshine Coast Hinterland with my husband and our miniature Red Cattle dog. We have a daughter in Townsville who has just presented us with a lovely little grand daughter. They are so happy and make such wonderful parents. We have waited 37 years for this so you can imagine the joy we have with her. It is a shame we are so far away but with the cam on the computer and the video on the camera it makes it a lot easier then it would have been years ago to be so far away from someone special.

The last few weeks have been exceptionally busy for me as now I am workshop coordinator for our quilt group. So I know where I am going I have the whole year organized with Tutors, Speakers and class's coming out of our ears so to speak. Round Robins, Quilt Block Swaps, Card Challenges, Hexagons Challenge are just a few of the things I have organised. It is going to be a very busy year for the ladies with a lady having her 80th this year so a quilt will be made for her.We also do Charity work and the latest project is a quilt for the Wildlife Worries. It is just lovely and the whole club got behind it. I will post when I take a picture of it. We plan to raffle this on the day of the Q2 Picnic which our club is hosting this year in May.
